I am so excited to finally get this big project done!
Life is a crazy thing. Somedays you feel like you're being kicked across the world, desperately trying to get to your feet, only to be shoved down again. Other times it feels like you've got a helping hand on your side. And then there's the in between times, when you're just living, making it through each day with your head barely up.
It's been awhile since I've focused on my writing. I've been trying to figure out my work life balance as a teacher, and it's taken nearly the whole year. It's my second year as a teacher, but really, so much has changed from my first year.
Last School Year | This School Year |
---|---|
Working at two different schools | Working at one school |
Teaching one type class | Teaching two types of classes |
Mostly Online/Hybrid Learning | All in person |
Longer prep time | Less prep time |
I can adapt easily to new situations, but this was a big change for me over all. So of course, I dove headfirst into work, forgetting about my hobbies, coming home tired and not wanting to do anything else.
Around November I realized I need to change something in my life. I was working on NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) again, feeling free and able to write when I could. I realized how much I missed just writing for fun. That's when I knew I needed to find my true work/life balance.
So I got right to work, got organized along with my fiancé, and started exercising more. I'm inspired once again. Ready to create and share new work to the world! More time to practice drawing, to spend time with the people I love, to read more and more, and to write all the stories still waiting inside my imagination.
Today marks a new beginning!
And I can't wait to share it with you all!
